Before the puffer jacket gained the sort of recognition it has today, it was merely a necessity. Enter the likes of Balenciaga and Moncler, who turned it upside down and inside out, repurposing the utilitarian item by playing with its proportions, using an explosion of prints, and putting it on the runway.
This season, the puffer jacket hits a new peak. With street-cred attached, it’s no longer reserved for the slopes. Even more so with the Moncler Genius series of collaboration projects with some of the coolest fashion designers to date.
It makes it easier for us to justify wearing a winter wardrobe, especially when it’s fashionable and functional.
