6. Chong Pang Durian King

Known as one of Singapore’s food paradises, many great eateries and food stalls are located in Yishun. Which makes it no surprise that Durian King’s stall is right in the middle of Chong Pang city, and it becomes flooded with crowds during the evenings.

Offering comparatively low prices for their many types of durians, you can choose between entire durians still in their spiky shells or take home boxes of ready-to-eat durians.

Some durians go for just $10 to $25 per piece — a total steal! You can takeaway or eat there at one of its fuss-free tables. A tip is to go in the evening, when prices may start to take a dip as the stall prepares to wrap up for the day.

This durian stall apparently receives daily deliveries of premium Mao Shan Wang from its own plantation in Raub, Pahang, so you can rest assured that you’re getting only the freshest offerings. Durians arrive every day at around 6pm to 7pm.

Besides having the option of eating there and taking your durians away (flesh will be packed in vacuumed packaging), you also can get free delivery if you order a minimum of 8kg. And we mean the whole fruits too, which will be opened on the spot where you are.

Prices vary day to day, but on June 13, it was $20/kg for its Pahang Grade A MSW (1.5kg to 2kg+ each) or $16/kg for its Pahang Grade B MSW (1kg to 1.5kg each). Call 9226 3109 to pre-order.
