La Carte Fetish Matcha, running from now till the end of July, is an ode to all things green tea with a mind-boggling list of 22 sweet and savoury items.
To break it down, that's three drinks, a pasta, three hot plated desserts, eleven types of bonbons and petit fours, three cakes and pastries, and a jam.
What's novel is that this collection is all about reimagining French classics with matcha as the central ingredient; Chef has given a wide berth to cliched pairings like azuki beans and mochi, opting instead for the likes of chestnut cream, chocolate, and chantilly (sweet whipped cream, usually flavoured with vanilla).
If you consider yourself a die-hard matcha lover, rally the troops and share the degustation menu ($190, for four pax) to soak up the full experience. $5 of every set goes to the Singapore Children's Society OCBC-TODAY Children's Fund, so indulging in your matcha obsession is actually helping a worthy cause.
But if the thought of surrendering two, three hours sounds overwhelming, there's always the a la carte menu option. The feel-good factor is there too, as Antoinette will donate a dollar for every order of selected matcha items.
Here's our blow-by-blow account.
